Not illustrated. 1738 Excerpt:...kept in this Parish yearly, it was given by Eadsin, Bishop of St. Mar. upon the Feast of St. Philip and St. tins, without Canterbury, A. 0.1032, with May 1. the Consent cf King Canutut; but at the Ebny, or Ebenty, was given to the Monks Suppression, King Henry VIII. seized it, and of Christ s-Church in Canterbury, by King gave it to Henry Crisp Esq; whose Son iV» Atulphm, or Æihelwcfs, A. D. 832, at the ihtlat conveyed it to James Hales, and he to Intreaty and Instigation of Cwlmtb, the Freak, whose Descendant, Sir Themas Freak, Archbiibop, for the repairing of their Cloisold it to Sir Thtmas Bishop, who gave it sler and Cathedral, as the Record of it atwith his Daughter to Mr. Alftrd, in whose tests. At the Suppression, King Hinry VIII. Family it is, or lately was. granted it to Sir Walter Henley, Serjeant it Palstrt is another Manor in this Parish, Law, who dying without Issue male, this which, if ever it was given to Christ's-Manor, pasted in Marriage with hisyoungest Church, as Mr. Kilbeurn allures us, was the Daughter to Richard Ctvert Esq; in whose Estate ofjehn de Palstre inKing Edward III. 's Family it still remains.
