As Time Passes takes us back to the days of unforgotten love. Flame, a naive freshman, meets Chance, the prominent and intelligent captain of the football team. This meeting changes her life forever. At that time, Flame cannot bring herself to respond. Suddenly Flame hears of Chance's nuptial notice in the newspaper. She sets up one last meeting with Chance before it is too late. He could not possibly marry another after looking into her eyes again. Chance leaves word that he cannot meet leaving Flame alone to ponder the future. Heartbroken, Flame forages on to enroll in medical school without the one she loves beside her.
