The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) maintains a detailed record of all correspondence with a patent applicant. After a patent issues, the complete record is called a File Wrapper. In this book, the Author reproduces a File Wrapper from one of his own patents for a real-life, nuts-and-bolts walk through the patenting process. Each book in the Author's Patent Chronicles series details twists and turns taken by a particular patent application on its way to success as an issued patent. Instead of telling a reader "how to do it", the Author provides a road map that tells "how he did it"!
