Gasping For Euphoria is an African play, which highlights myriads of crises being experienced by a certain man, who has been inundated with conflicting ideologies. Having a family of only female children leaves the man in abject confusion. Desperately he searches for the means to have a male child who takes over his inheritance. His wife seeks God's help, but her mother prefers a local spiritualist who incidentally sows a seed of discord in the family. Three events cast shadows of disharmony among the townspeople. At first, the maid becomes pregnant and delivers male twins. The wife coincidentally has had a male child few weeks earlier. Secondly, a minister of the gospel due to greed loses his mantle of control over them. Finally, the protagonist wields through tragedy at the tail of the drama. He has become a drunkard, clinging only to wine bottles.
