Here's the issue! People used to worship many gods, sacrifice to these gods, write about these gods, and be ruled by many gods. We have discarded the historical references as fantasy to make us more comfortable. We believed that it helped secure our faith in a single creator God. Some even believed God commanded us to ignore the other gods. This book removes some of the mystery of why people would sacrifice their children to people who were considered gods. It describes where they came from, how they lived, where they lived, and how they died.
