
Goddess Loves Me, This I Know. She sometimes seems gentle, kissing my world with peace. At other times, it feels like she stalks me in the darkness, as I reap what I sow.But I know that Goddess loves me. I can feel her presence in my heart. There is serenity in trusting her grace...and fearing her paybacks. For she does pay back the wrong. So I celebrate this life on planet earth. It is full and rich even in the midst of occasional human ugliness. Through her ministry to me, I've escaped the domination of the male-centric, anthropomorphic, Christian religion of 21st century America. The male god was a late development among homo sapiens society anyway. After almost 40,000 years of spirit worship, we moved to polytheistic female deities. Then the dramatic, hierarchical, agricultural revolution swept away our ancient hunter gatherer understandings of life. Millennia of rich celebration disappeared in an ugly swamp of rotting God-Worship. Nothing good has come of Abrahamic religion. Yes, some monotheistic folk are good and do good. But that is because of their hunger to be good people, in and of themselves. It is almost in spite of their faith, not because of it. Anthropomorphic religion is the single greatest cause of evil in our world. It deranges the true believer. The more one embraces its tenets, the sicker one's mind becomes. This religion, in its various Christian/Muslim/Jewish manifestations is the verdant source of terrorism, both political and gender-based.We all know the litany of evil that springs from the male god. Oppression of women, racism, genderism, hatred of gays and lesbians, hatred of immigrants, justification of imperialism. Rather than justice, monotheism gives us a parody of righteousness. We cannot drink or smoke or dance, or otherwise enjoy ourselves, but we can demean "the other" wherever we see them. We cannot read many kinds of books because they will tempt us to think about things that God forbids or that compete with God. But we can read
