
Early in the Three Kingdoms period the Shu-Han Emperor, Liu Bei, passed away being unable to fulfil his promise of destroying the rebels of the Han Dynasty. Zhuge Liang became Imperial Chancellor and promised to uphold his ambition of his late Emperor by entering the armies into the ancient city of Luoyang to uphold the Han Dynasty and restore a legitimate heir on the imperial throne. Zhuge Liang planned to do this in his series of Northern Campaigns.In this work, we explore the strategies put forth by Zhuge Liang in order to give the struggling Shu-Han State the best chance it had to fight against the various commanders of Cao-Wei and the unique challenges each one offers. We also take a detailed overview on the struggles presented to Zhuge Liang in running Shu-Han and the inventions made to overcome these.This work is set in the known history of the Three Kingdoms and ignores most fiction written of the time. This allows the reader to delve into a dynamic series of events from Chinese history while being able to explore the subject in other works.
