In January 2023 I found a cache of letters that William G. Gray had written to me 40 years earlier. To my bewilderment, I could remember almost NOTHING about them. Yet they are filled with spiritual observations, deep magickal insights, delicious spleen, endless irresistible yarns and wicked gossip about the ‘witches, bitches and all their little itches’ (his words not mine!) from the 1950s onward, including people who are now Legends. They also included some brilliant ‘unpublished porno’ from Crowley’s Magical Diary dated 1922. What surprised me was that when he wrote these, he was the same age as me. That is, 71½. So I’ve taken the opportunity to reply to these letters as the man I am now: a faux and often phoney Adept; an equal rather than the wide-eyed numpty I was when I first made contact at the age of 17. Lots of odd things happened as I worked through this notional ‘quantum entanglement’. I’ve no doubt they will happen to you too, just reading it. Just don’t blame me or ask for your money back...
