I Begynnelsen tells the Creation story of Genesis as the story of Salvation. The author contends that this is not two stories but one, that Creation and Salvation are the same story, that "Tal'ordet creates. Tal'ordet redeems." I Begynnelsen is set in northern Sweden in the tiny village of Jänkisjärvi in the 29 days leading up to Christmas. The style of the text is both lyrical and allegorical and is a studied and well footnoted view of the Gensis text. D. Ansgar Nyberg writes in the genre of the modern mystical theologian.
