Myths from around the world tell stories about an ancient civilization that existed in our forgotten prehistory. The old legends speak of sunken cities and kingdoms that disappeared into the sea. Recent scientific findings confirm that human civilization is likely much older than we think, and the idea of a once-global ancient civilization is gaining credibility. In this book, we provide illustrated accounts of both scientific findings and highly controversial theories. By using a non-judgmental approach, we attempt to reach clarity and balance in our interpretation of the findings and theories we are presenting. As an introduction to the subject of alternative archaeology, the book can serve as an appealing textbook. Scientists have presented evidence that a cosmic impact event brought widespread destruction to our planet at the end of the last ice age, around 12,800 years ago. He has a lifelong fascination with ancient history and its mysteries. Mikael Kindborg has a background in university research and teaching. He has a PhD in Computer Science and Visual Languages. Investigating unknown mysteries and learning about ancient cultures are some of his passions.
