Sites with alternate one-way vehicular flows are referred to as 'shuttle' working. For current information about traffic control at street works and road works, including health and safety issues, you, or your supervisor, should refer to Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and to Safety at Street Works and Road Works: A Code of Practice.* For convenience, in this booklet these will be referred to as 'Chapter 8' and 'the Code of Practice' respectively.
