You find that thousands of years ago, the Egyptians had in their religion all the things which you believed!" Others, who know Egypt more superficially, frequently make similar remarks. But, as the collector spoke, a strong feeling came to the author that the discovery of these religious ideas in Egypt, should not give a denial but rather a confirmation to our own belief. So she set herself seriously to study what the explorers and the historians have to tell. That she has expressed in this volume what she found is due to the need of which she became conscious in her studies, the need for something to express Egypt as a whole.
