English summary: Laying picturesquely in Egypts western deserts over 300 kilometers from the closest city, the Siwa Oasis is widely known for the so-called Oracle of Amon in the temple of Amun, whose most notable visitor was Alexander the Great. The Gebel el-Mota, which towers above the oasis, was developed under the Ptolemaic successors to Alexander and became a central burial site for members of the political elite. The grave of a man named Siamun numbers the most important private graves in the oasis and, on account of the quality and realism of its decorations, occupies as a key position in late late-Egyptian art. This book presents the results of a multi-year German Research Foundation project whose basis was a 1:1 depiction of the wall decorations, which Michael Sohn produced on site and later scanned and edited through computer technology. The book also offers the photo-documentation of Mohammad al-Roumi. On the basis of the pictorial work, an interdisciplinary team has analyzed the architecture, decorations, and inscriptions found in Siamuns grave. The results provide not only the first complete documentation, but also a fundamentally new interpretation of the grave, which numbers among the most important legacies from Egypt in a period of transition.
