Excavation report on Canadian fieldwork at Hambukol in Nubia. The site was occupied from Meroitic to Islamic times, but the evidence presented here is for secular life during the Late Classic and Late Christian periods. Hambukol appears to have been one of a series of small towns on the banks of the Nile, oriented towards the capital city of Medieval Nubia at Old Dongola, and situated in a landscape of monasteries and cemeteries. Work by the Royal Ontario Museum is continuing. The report includes textile and pottery finds.
