German text: This is an in depth study on the 'servant at the place of Truth' Penbuy. He was one of the leading workmen, involved in building the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings at Thebes. All known monuments are presented. They include the scenes of his badly destroyed, but once nicely painted tomb chapel. The study presents new insights into the family of Penbuy and the social relations at Deir el-Medineh.
