Author Description

This poetry collection of Kavvadias shows both the freshness and charm of his teenage innocence during his first outing to sea. Dominating alternating images of the sea and ports. They present a number of small and independent stories whose protagonists are people of the sea (the pilot Nagel, the Negro stoker from Djibouti, the captain Fletcher etc.) and even the animals and the unceasing tension, risk and pleasures of the sea.
