Marius dreams of becoming a star charioteer like his brother, Petronius. One day, Marius is hearding his master's sheep and discovers a beautiful horse named Thunder. Marius trains Thunder to run. When Marius makes a secret trip to Rome, he tracks down Petronius and gives him Thunder. Will Thunder be able to lead Petronius to victory?
