The throne room of Olympus stretched vast and silent, a world above the world. Twelve thrones encircled a hexagonal platform of white marble streaked with veins of gold and storm-gray - as if thunder had been captured in stone. Pillars rose like titans themselves, carved from celestial ivory, the grooves deep enough to cast shadows that never moved. Hermes stood in the center, breathless. The messenger god looked barely twenty-five, but his presence vibrated like a taut bowstring. His brown eyes stayed glued to the floor. His black robes, woven with glowing silver runes, rippled as if caught in a silent wind. Each step he took echoed like a whisper through eternity. "My lord Zeus... King of Olympus..." he said, his voice clear and steady despite the weight it carried. "I bring news."
