A critical edition and reconstruction of the annals of Sargon II of Assyria for the year 711 B.C., providing transliterations, translations, philological commentary and an evaluation of the contributions of these annals to the history of Sargon's reign. Significant historical and technical problems are treated in a series of appendices. Hand copies of the cuneiform texts involved are also included.
