Frithjof the Viking is the protagonist of a Nordic legend that narrates his adventures and his love for Princess Ingeborg. The story is set in Norway, in the 8th century, and mixes historical, fantastic and romantic elements. Frithjof is a brave, strong and loyal hero who must overcome numerous obstacles to win the favor of the gods and the love of Ingeborg. Although it is quite unknown in English-speaking countries, the legend has been adapted to various media, such as poetry, theater, music and film. This book was not written specifically for children. Even so, it doesn't include anything especially for adult audiences, so, beyond the fact that some parts may be written in an elaborate manner, the story is suitable for practically all audiences.
