Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor from AD 161 to 180, recorded his private notes to himself and thoughts on Stoic philosophy in a series of personal writings called Meditations ("things to one's self"). Based on the edition published in London and New York in 1900, this artistic edition of Marcus Aurelius' Meditations was created. A new set of images has been added to the original publication, visually interpreting the philosophical essay "Meditations" and providing a fresh perspective on its meaning using tools from the twenty-first century. The pictures that accompany the text vividly illustrate the teachings of the ancient Roman philosopher Marcus Aurelius. The images serve as an illustration of Marcus Aurelius's writings on the necessity to spend time in nature, the need for ongoing psychophysical relaxation, and the need for self-awareness. The Mediterranean Sea beach is where the philosopher Marcus Aurelius lived and produced the images. Thank you for visiting our shop
