Author Description

This is the flute part in this work for string orchestra and piccolo and flute Toward Dusk is the last movement from the work Water's Edge. The edge of the original tide refers to the upper surface of the water as it reflects or refracts light. During the piece, echoes of the previous two movements (Dawn Light and From the Riverbed) are heard as the light gradually fades from view.
