Excerpt from The History of the Siege and Destruction of Jerusalem There is no one who has read the life of our blessed Saviour, Jesus Christ, as given by the four Evangelistic, in the New Testa ment, who does not know that He foretold the destruction of the city of Jerusalem, as the consequence of national guilt and disobedi ence, and not only fixed the precise time when it should be fulfilled, but, also, the signs which should precede and indicate its speedy accomplishment.
