The second book in The Lo Trilogy is a beginning of sorts and provides an insight to who and what helped shape Lo's persona. It's dead-on with older brother/younger brother dynamics, full of posturing and positioning, and comes to define the bond that forever connects by blood but ultimately separates by individuality. It's poignant, arrogant, and frustratingly loveable. It's seductive and selfless and sentimental. If you like vivid fictional descriptions of ancient Egypt, harem girls, and large complicated family dynamics; along with flashbacks of the 1920's- you'll enjoy this book and my reimagination of such allusive things. *But if you have an issue with twisted violence and manipulative sex- you'll find it offensive.
