In the year 2233, Special Agent Protag Onist and his Search and Rescue Artificial Intelligence partner, ALICEA, must scour the world in pursuit of a thief guilty of regicide. Strung along by cryptic clues, the investigative duo soon uncovers and works to thwart a cataclysmic conspiracy between a group of international drug-peddlers called the Root-Sellers and a radical sect of said group's supposed rivals, the pseudo-religious psychotherapeutic organization known as the Carpenters of the Mind.
