The glass, which portrays incidents in the life of St. Helen, was originally the glazing of the great east Window of six lights, and as such is referred to in a manuscript of 1586, but, subsequent to a fire which occurred in the year 1821, the stonework of the east Window was entirely altered, becoming a window of seven lights, and in this the Old glass was reinserted.
