DescriptionThe universe is infinite and it has no beginning, end or edges. We can see upto the sky only and beyond the limit of our eye-sight, lies the unseen part of the universe with crores and crores of heavenly bodies. The seen is the domain of the material science or modern science and it becomes helpless before the questions about the unseen and its effects in the affairs of man. Just like the influences of the seen and unseen rays of the Sun and the Moon, the seen and unseen rays of the heavenly bodies which lie beyond the limits of our observation may also have influences on the earth and its living beings. Astrology attempts to surpass this limitation, in its own mysterious ways. But it now appears to be having many shortages, as the modern astrologers cannot give satisfactory explanations about many of the conclusions in astrology which were formulated during the course of thousands of years. The replies like 'these are the secrets revealed to Parasara by God Himself ', or 'these are the truths found out by the Rishis by their intution' etc., cannot satisfy an enquiring mind. However, eventhough some of the basic principles which guide the predictive side of astrology cannot be explained, practical studies reveal that there is some truth in astrology and hence the classification as an occult science, dealing with the influence of the cosmic rays in the affairs of man, cannot be challenged with evidence. Anyhow, astrology appears to be a systematic study of discipline as any other utility-oriented stream of sciences like medicine, psychology, meteorology etc. Besides, perhaps, it is the most difficult of all the sciences, as it requires the precision of mathematics blended with the intution of a philosopher. The astrological intution, for making accurate predictions, can be developed only through reasonable thinking, experimental studies in the field of applied astrology, intelligent analysis of each case etc. which means that it is a scientific development
