Tulpamancy is the art of creating a sentient, separate consciousness using the power of the mind through focus and intention. The modern practice of tulpamancy emerged in the first decade of the 2000’s over the Internet, with individuals taking meditative and spiritual practices and employing those methods to create autonomous entities existing within the mind of the practitioner. These “tulpamancers” created independent and separate consciousness that act alongside their own thought process. The community of tulpamancers continues to grow today, pushing the definition and understanding of identity and what it means to be conscious.
