Castell rose to fame with his night photographs of flowers, plants and trees. Here, he juxtaposes these poetic images with a series of pictures of boxers. Free fights, in cages or on the street, are an underground phenomenon, hidden from everyday view. Castell approaches these male protagonists, flexed into martial gestures, in the same way that he approaches his still life - at night with a strange, preternatural light enveloping both settings.
