Siofra's brother Glenn is hurting her, but that doesn't matter. She's dying anyway, riddled with tumors that fill up her chest and push out her back like wing buds. But Cook, Siofra's only ally in the Clancy house, thinks Siofra isn't dying. She thinks that Siofra has been Touched. In the old country, Siofra would have already joined the Fey dancing circles. Then Glenn almost kills Siofra, which sets off a change in her. A change that will threaten a treaty and bring ancient enemies out of seclusion.
