A Minister in these circumstances is in infinite danger of satisfying himself with the current requirement; doing neither more nor less than others; sinking to the common level; and wearing out his existence in the midst of the common-place engagements of his vocation; it may be with the approval and plaudits of his compeers, but making no impression during his life, and lea no trace of his footsteps when dead.
