
Peter Church was born in Cape Town, South Africa, was a promising young athlete until he was paralyzed in a rock fall while working in a gold mine. After a remarkable recovery he entered the ministry and served as a pastor, evangelist and radio broadcaster. As the founder of an indigenous missionary organization he helped organize many of the great evangelistic crusades in his country. In a dynamic outreach to the youth of South Africa his movement staged events featuring such musicians as Pat Boone, Richard Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart, The Living Sound and Cliff Richard, and such noted speakers as Nicky Cruz and Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. He now resides in El Paso, Tx.
