Author Description

Wendy Vail Konopka was born in Scranton in 1960 and raised in the small town of Factoryville, PA. She spent her childhood on a dairy farm until her father died of cancer in 1970. Wendy received a BSW from Eastern University in 1982. She married Brian Konopka in 1983 and they recently celebrated 33 years of marriage. In 2015, Wendy, Brian and her son Jason decided to start a new chapter in their lives by moving across the country. They now reside in Green Valley, AZ. Wendy works part time at La Posada for Casa Community Services as a caregiver. Wendy is following in her mother's footsteps. Her mom, Mildred Jacoby Vail wrote a book of poetry in 1984. Wendy fondly remembers moments in her childhood when her mom would read to her and her older sister, Emily for hours. Her love of reading and writing was a true gift. Wendy's poetry has been shared with friends and family. Some poems were recently shared on facebook and also in church newsletters. Inspired is her first volume of published poetry. Wendy hopes sharing her Christian faith will inspire others to learn about God's love.
