It is amazing fun, these Wednesday afternoon sessions. You never know what you're going to get. But we wrestle with a wide range of concerns from evil to passion, from Christian atheism to movies, from The Religions to the war against women. Sometimes classic Christian theology comes up but never in 8 years of this project has anyone quoted Karl Barth or Bultmann or Schleiermacher. But Jesus seems always just down the hall. This volume has an essay by a professional scholar; an ancient text translator making a case for how the Jesus story was mythologized. We also, this year, tried to untangle what Christmas, as experience and memory, really means. We hope you will read, find joy and stimulation, and be encouraged to "still think."
