I was 20 years old when I heard and accepted the call to teach love. Because of my naïveté and with the arrogance of a neophyte, I was giddy. I did not understand that you cannot teach what you do not know and you cannot know what you do not experience. And in particular, I did not comprehend that to teach love I'd have to endure some deeply unlovely things. It took me another twenty years and more to know what God wants me to teach; and I am still learning. This devotional with a guided journal included is a collection of essays, which are a sampling of some of the lessons I've learned along the way.
