As we reflect on the Great Commission from Jesus, I can't help but admit that many Christians have a heartfelt faith that feels like it's missing something essential. Many of us likely share a yearning for a deeper, more tangible faith experience. It's as if there's something lacking in the way we engage with our faith or participate in church life. We want to be challenged to make a meaningful impact with our faith, but often we don't know where to start. We want to be a part of the Great Commission, but frankly, we lack a clear strategy. In many cases, the leaders of the churches we've attended haven't shown us how to do it; they haven't provided us with a roadmap. As a result, our faith may feel too comfortable or shallow. When we first embark on our faith journey with Jesus, the world seems full of possibilities. We envision doing remarkable things for Him, and the challenge of transforming our world is exhilarating. Yet, as we become entrenched in the "church" environment, it can feel as though the joy of living for Jesus gets drained away. It becomes more about tasks like setting up for the week, serving in children's ministry, or attending endless meetings, rather than the exciting, daring, and bold adventure we once imagined. And before we knew it, our faith became shallow, and we did not intend that to happen, and we surely didn't want it to happen. But the more we were in church, the more the church took the joy out of it. At least that was how it was for me. Be A Blessing: Changing How We Reach Our Neighbors for Christ serves as a guide to rejuvenate our faith and inspire us in our pursuit of the Great Commission. However, to achieve this, we must transform our approach to connecting with and bringing Christ to our neighbors.
