Excerpt from The Tourist: Or Pocket Manual for Travellers on the Hudson River, the Western Canal and Stage Road to Niagara Falls Down Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence to Montreal and Quebec Bordentown, a handsome village, situated on an elevated bank. Here the passengers take cars on the Camden and Amboy Railroad, and, after proceeding a short distance, the seat and residence of the Err-king of Spain, Joseph Bonaparte, who now styles himself Count Survilliers, and is residing in England, is seen on the left. A fire which took place some years since at this place destroyed the finest of his buildings. The railroad passes through Sandhills, 4 miles distant from Bordentown, to Centreville 5 miles, to Rocky Brook 4 miles, The United States census of 1840 not having been fully made up, we are not able to publish the different population of towns with great accuracy.
