The Guide explores metaphors and symbolism relative to the fictional book 1984, by George Orwell, through real history, philosophy and contemporary politics. It is an inspiration for peaceful individual action and like the book within the book 1984, provides the theory to individual empowerment. The Guide is pro-individual, without ardent left wing nor right wing perspective. The Guide states there are four types of people in the world based on their reaction to information; idiots, zealots, elitists and patriots. The four different types of mentality are explored using other universal concepts including Jungian theory, Genesis, The Wise Monkeys, Socratic philosophy and more. In 1984 people are forced to live with telescreens on their walls. The Guide relates the fictional ideas in 1984 to contemporary institutional arrangement as well as multicultural philosophies and political empowerment of the individual. The philosophy behind 1984, real world oligarchical institutions, and a way for individuals to empower themselves among institutions are all explored. The book within the book 1984, The Theory and Practice to Oligarchical Collectivism, inspired this book. It is supposed to have presented such a formula for individual empowerment, only Winston Smith is never able to read it.
