Richard Kuykendall has created in this volume a new gospel with a new christ who comes with a message of salvation for the planet and, with it, humanity. In the tradition of Creation Spirituality and other free spiritual movements that borrow truth from many of the world’s religions, Prophetess of the Earth embraces traditions from many sources—including (but not limited to) Native American and feminist theologies. Although this gospel parallels in many ways the Christian gospels, it is not the basis for a new denomination or cult. It is a trans-religious testament to a modern spiritual journey in search of ecological and psychological salvation. As with Jesus Christ in his time, this new christ, Drahcira, prophetess of the earth, may be dismissed as a devil, a dreamer or a lunatic. Then again, this new gospel may indeed lead us to a new salvation. Only time will tell....
