This is the story of a musician who has spent his life in two different but closely related fields. From the age of 5, music was becoming important in Peter Hazzard's life. By the age of 16 he knew that he wanted to become a professional composer/arranger, and by 20, he knew he wanted to be a conductor as well. As it turned out, he became both of those and, to his surprise, added a second parallel career which he had never thought about. Allegro Con Molto Graziea is Mr. Hazzard's memoir of how his two parallel careers in music began and how they have supported and enhanced his work in both for more than half a century. While his name is not a 'household word' in either the popular or classical music worlds, he is a nationally known composer/arranger, conductor, and music educator who is able to work very successfully in both. This book is filled with fascinating stories of of the many and varied events and people (both famous and lesser known) with, and for whom, he has worked and played during his career. It will also acquaint you with many of the "behind the scenes" activities and situations which fill the lives of professional musicians and which people outside the field never know about. This book is a terrific read.
