This is the 29th edition of this publication which lists the top companies in Europe ranked by turnover, organised by individual country except for the new EU member states which are combined. In addition, there are lists for the 500 largest companies in Europe ranked by sales, profits and number of employees; as well as for the 100 largest companies in major industry sectors, covering the following categories: agriculture, mining and construction; banking; business and personal services; food, beverages and tobacco; hotels and restaurants; insurance; manufacturing; retail; transportation and allied services; utilities; and wholesale sectors. The directory also includes a listing of ISIC activity code numbers, a trade index and an alphabetical index of companies.
