It is said that poets utter great and wise things which they do not themselves understand. Perhaps it is a bit of the fairy within them speaking. Being invited into the Fairy Kingdom is quite an honor. Werbel McGuthrie was once a Scottish laird whose passion was fishing. He lived on Aviemore Estate all his life, protecting it from marauding gangs. Throughout his latter years, however, he was considered a little strange because he would sit at a particular ewe tree for hours upon end "speaking to the breeze." Indeed, Werbel was not speaking to the breeze, but making contact with the local elves. The stories in Living Among Fairies are just a tiny sampling of the encounters Werbel had with the fairies and their friends. Many tales about fairies are quite well known, but these are far beyond, yet still within our imagination. Meet the people from The Land of Secrets and smile. Brian James Singleton was born into a large family surrounded by five brothers and six sisters.
