
ONE DAY AT A TIME Brigid's life was wrapped comfortably in her early childhood - in her home in rural Eire. She had a close teenage friendship in the Anglo-Irish community of South London and, her mid-life sporting passion of golf with her husband. When her beloved husband died suddenly - at the Irish Catenians golf tournament - Brigid resolved to step from her comfortable life and venture alone into the wide world. She swapped her soft-soled golfing shoes and trolley for hiking boots and a rucksack. Brigid had booked a journey across the world - to Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Chicago and Florida. She visited places she had never imagined that she would see, overcoming situations she had never encountered and reconnecting with dear friends and acquaintances from past threads of her family life and, made new friends along the way. From nerves to a new woman Brigid stepped into cosmopolitan airports and vibrant multi-coloured cities, where she learned to live - one day at a time - to confront old and new demons - as well as enjoy more than a taste of the high life.
