Author Description

This book's was created in cooperation with students of dance. They combine power with grace in a very natural way, a fascinating mixture of energy and beauty. The female has become a metaphor: she opens many doors, to beauty, to power, to eroticism or to solitude. And yet, at the same time the idea is created that behind every opened door, a new door with new secrets awaits the viewer. Van Stralen is strongly influenced by his work as a graphic designer. Consequently he and his camera depict the dancers' bodyforms in a very straight forward fashion.
