The stories contained were told to me by my father, Robert Bertram Hamilton over a period of several months in 2007 and 2008. Periodically Dad would call or stop by and ask if I had an hour to spare. That was the signal that Dad had been thinking about his childhood during the early sessions, and his life during later sessions. Dad would sit down and ask me to review our last session, and then off he would go with more stories and details about his life. I have attempted to leave the story that follows as close as possible to the story Dad shared with me. There are some minor edits for grammar, but the following is Dad’s story as told to me…
