The stories revolve around the village of Puckingell situated somewhere in the farmlands of East Anglia.The adventures of a group of residents captures the imagination of the media and they become national heroes. Throughout the previous four books there has been the development of various characters who's personalities and traits have endeared them to the reader for various reasons. Apart from containing the normal generous helping of zany humour bordering on farce, that has made the the books so popular, volume five also features the blossoming of a love affair from a most unlikely source and leaves the reader longing for the final volume, number six, in order to see if there will be a happy ending?
