Anica was born in Romania and was never happy there, so when her father moved their family to a small town in America, she was ecstatic. Shortly after arriving she meets some of the towns teenagers and becomes closer to them than anyone she had ever met back home. Every day was a new adventure, until Anica's family started to fall apart. Will she get to enjoy the life she had always dreamed of, or will her family drag her back to her miserable old home? This book is the first in the Misfit Six series. When I was a teenager we had plenty of authors writing teen stories, but nothing very real. We had stories about best friends with wonderful lives in clubs, or wizardry, or scary stories, but never serious issues or drama that occurs in the life of real teenagers. Kids face depression, broken homes, emotional and physical disorders, and more peer pressure than adults can even imagine, and kids should be prepared for the things they may be confronted with in life. My intention with this series is to discuss those issues that teens deal with, and let those who have been through rough times know that they're not alone. Even if they're only relating to a fictional character.
