These proceedings present a comprehensive overview of spatial hazard analysis in soil dynamics, in addition to identifying issues related to the practical implementation of the technology. Spatial analysis within the context of specific earthquake hazards includes ground motion amplification, liquefaction, and earthquake induced landslides. Also covered are techniques for assessing the combined hazard from multiple threats and damage estimation and lifeline infrastructure evaluation within a Geographic Information System (GIS) framework. Topics include spatial geologic hazard analysis in practice, regional versus site specific spatial hazard analysis, spatial data quality evaluation in geotechnical earthquake engineering, deterministic zonation of seismic slope instability, integration of earthquake hazards in GIS, and GIS assessment of water supply damage from the Northridge earthquake.
