Concise Evidence Law is an easy reference and practical guide to the law of evidence. Conceived as a book to assist students, it provides a comprehensive and up-to-date narrative of the provisions of the new Evidence Act l995 (Cth) and the Evidence Act l995 (NSW). Individual sections of the Acts are analysed and the text includes, where appropriate, extracts from relevant cases to illustrate the meaning to be given to the sections. Such cases are specific to factual scenarios and give life to questions that arise in daily practice and discourse. The cases, especially those from the High Court in the past ten years, will continue to provide an invaluable armoury to the keen legal mind. Extracts from decided cases are to assist readers in understanding not only the law of evidence but also the process of reasoning by which superior courts apply legal principles in the resolution of disputes.
