The high reproductive efficiency of rabbits allowed their usage as a model in basic and applied reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination (AI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), embryo transfer (ET) and cloning by somatic cell nuclear transfer. Improving the genetic selection and reproductive management increased commercial rabbit breeder profitability.
